Achievement Motivation Training

After SA with E-Care, now it’s time for Human Resources Development or HRD to hold their own event! Last Saturday on May 14th 2016, HRD held an event called Achievement Motivation Training (AMT).

What is AMT? It’s an annual event held by HRD, targeted on all EDSA committees. It aims to give training and motivation for EDSA committees, so that they will work better in the organization.  For this year’s AMT, HRD invited seven speakers to give a talk on each department: Finance and Governance (FG), Social Activist (SA), Talent and Interest Development (TID), Media and Communication (Medcom), and Economy and Business (Ecobis).

The event started around 09.20 AM in the room A.3.9, Building A FIB Undip Tembalang. It was hosted by Bagas Dwi Pramono and Theresia Sitinjak from HRD. After some opening speeches by M. Farid Salma Husna as President of EDSA and Ijhar Naufal Furqan as the project leader, the committees were asked to form a group based on their own departments. Each group was accompanied by one or two speakers who are experts in their fields, and they gave a talk on things related to each department’s expertise. Afterwards, each group was given time to discuss and review things that they had learned before.

Then Bagas and There asked each group to share what they had learned to other departments, starting with SA. They told us that they had learned about how to analyze real social problems and how it is different from our daily life in campus. Next, Medcom was taught on how to create EDSA’s identity through medias like photography, design, and publication.  TID in academic was given tips and tricks to make good and successful research paper for PKM (Program Kreativitas Mahasiswa). Meanwhile, TID in non-academic discussed about how to create and organize events and how to make it different than usual. FG learned about how to organize EDSA’s finance, how to be accountable for their job, and how to coordinate with other departments. Lastly, Ecobis told us that they had learned about how to keep business values in their department, and how to create business strategies that is different from others.

In the end, all of EDSA committees sure got a lot of things to learn about from this event. Hopefully, after AMT, they can work better in the organization based on their expertises and thus helping EDSA become a better organization as well.

Great job, HRD, and keep up the good work!

As we all know, EDSA committee are divided into many departments, one of them is Social Activist or we usually call them as SA. Social Activist works not only in social field but also in serving people and t. Therefore, they held this event called E-Care. E-Care stands for EDSA Care. Wanna know more? Here we go!

E-Care is an annual event held by SA. It targeted people not only from English Department but also outside it. If you are a student from another faculty, you can join this event too! This event targeted people generally.

What is new on this year E-Care? Recalling on the previous year, which held in the lobby, E-Care this year was held in Joglo FIB Undip Tembalang (the large one). This one too, is a factor that makes a lot of people join this event. People can see this event from the outside. In addition, this event also raised fund for charity. The money was contributed to an orphanage named Bhakti Asih. For your information, Bhakti Asih is an orphanage for people who have multiple disabilities, located in Jalan Ismangil, near Ahmad Yani Airport.

One of our member, Irene Heni, had interviewed the project leader, Yolanda A. She is an EDSA committee from batch 2014. She told us that she was chosen to be this project leader by the rest of the department. It was the first event for her! She said that this she didn’t target how many people should come to the event, but it all depended on how many blood bags that are provided by Indonesian Red Cross. Indonesian Red Cross only provided 50 blood bags. Thus, when they run out of the blood bags, they will finish the blood donation.

What about the budgets? Turned out the budget on this event was quite affordable. They budgeted Rp150.000,00 for the snacks, the pamflets, and proposal copies. Great event with good money? Well done, Social Activist!

Thank you, Social Activist for making this event!

English Leadership Camp 2016

elc-2016-part-3_5504
Woohoo!

ELC (English Leadership Camp) is a bonding activities whose aim is to make EDSA committee closer. It is the first time EDSA held this kind of event and I can assure you guys it was well worth it. There is so much we can learn from ELC, especially togetherness. Thanks to Human Resource Development department of EDSA who had put so much of their strength and hard work to make this event successful.

We camped one night in Taman Wisata Hutan Penggaron in Ungaran where we could really feel the nature and immersed in it. We smell the fresh air, we felt the breeze, we bore the sunny temperature, and we saw a beautiful starry night.

There are also two speakers, Mr. Baron from Faculty of Law and Ms. Cleo from AIESEC UNDIP. They shared with us their broad knowledge of leading a big department. Those information was expected to affect us in a good way so we can implement many good points delivered by them.

Although we are provided by little electricity and limited infrastructure, we know we are not looking for those things. HRD intended to make us feel together without being distracted by any means of technology and luxury. We share many things in common, especially regarding our beloved EDSA, thus we are equal.

We came back with a hope that this event could make us know each other better. There are many kind of games played which was meant to bond us and test our solidarity. It is true that there are no prizes for the winner, but it did not deter us to do our best. Anyway, physical reward is not something we seek. Somehow there was a vibe that this event can provide us with another form of reward, such as happiness and gratefulness.

We hope this event can have its continuity in another year as to make us more like a family. Our President, Mr. Farid, also emphasized that ELC has advantages more than we can directly feel. Togetherness is not something we can see with our eyes, togetherness is something that we can feel in our daily life in working as one in EDSA Universitas Diponegoro.

Warm regards, my colleagues!

Participants was following the meeting

Last week, the inauguration of our new members had been held. Yesterday, April 9th, our first full-team annual meeting and project conference followed. The event took place for a lengthy 12 hours to discuss AD/ART and project from each and every department. Most of EDSA members participated in this event as to acknowledge every single policy that will be enforced throughout the year of EDSA 16/17.

The participants looked very enthusiastic during the meeting. It can be seen from the number of the students who stayed right from the start until the end of the meeting. Even though it was not a brief meeting, we can say that everyone was paying attention to AD/ART discussion and project conference considering there were many corrections and concrete suggestions given by the participants.

The presidiums

The meeting was led by three presidium. Javier Muhammad Yusuf, Savira Fitria Sari, Isna Nasukha were first presidium, second presidium, and third presidium respectively. The process was rather conducive because there was no significant disturbance came from inside or outside of the meeting. The meeting was scheduled from 8.30 am to 8.30 pm and it went as expected.

The project conference was there to give information regarding project of every department so other members of committee and EDSA members in general can have better picture of what is going to come in English Department. Responsibility was also expected from each department for their own projects because senate members attended the meeting and we should anticipate their assessment of our organisation.

The first meeting of EDSA 16/17 can be considered as the threshold of our contribution to our beloved English Department. We should embrace this opportunity to give our best and show people that our organisation is one of the best there is!
